<reviewbody>This was an exceptional show! The quality is about as good as it gets for my rig, & is probly my best recording of the 7 shows I taped last tour! You can hear all the crisp details & echos etc, & it makes a huge difference when the crowd is silent (& not talking during the music). The crowd was really good actually: they were loud in the right places & silent the right places, & the sing along in Peaches & Cream was perfect!! A few shows on the tour didn't work with the unplugged sing-along, but this show was just perfect for that. I had to drasticly amplify the soft parts of the gig so they can be heard, but in the end everything turned out nicely balanced. During "Take" Richard Walley played didgeridoo & his sons did clapsticks & aboriginal dancing. "Take" was a really nice treat because they don't play it very often on the Oz tours anymore.

Overall the this is a really brilliant gig! The sound is loud & clean & as I said: you can hear every little detail! For the first 1.5 mins the sound is mono, then crossfades to stereo before the first song starts. Apart from that you'd be hard pressed to pick any flaws in the show at all. Listen close to the talking between the songs, there is lots of band & crowd interaction, & John is as humorous as always. ;)

I hope you enjoy this show as much as I did, it was my 37th JBT show but I can tell you I was completely blown away & just as engaged as if it was my first! I guess it helps when you have a center seat down the front :) By far this was my favorite show of the tour, & I can't wait to get back to the Civic Theatre, coz it is the best medium sized venue!

<reviewbody>Unbelievably crisp and clean recording, and a great show. JBT is blowing it up - I was lucky enough to catch them last summer and they are getting better with every show. I've never been so happy to see a band succeed.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>This is a John Butler Trio Recording not to be missed. Excellent sound quality, great set-list and a steller performance.

Besides being as strong as ever on the staples: Treat Yo Mama, Take, Old Man ect. John Butler introduces a hauntingly poetic 'Fire in the Sky' as well as funky 'The GOv Did Nothing'. Fire in the Sky is the standout track of the list, closely followed by the best rendition of the instrumental 'Oceans' that I have heard, and a wonderful acoustic rendition of Peaches and Cream in which the crowd plays back up vocalist beautifully.

Thanks to the taper, the the crowd and the John Butler Trio..(not to mention the archive itself) it is shows like this that remind me why concert sharing is so important!</reviewbody>
