Anyone familiar with the netlabel scene will recognize the names of K.M. Krebs and Mystified (Thomas Park) as being two well-known and highly productive electronic music artists. For someone just becoming acquainted with netlabel music, this split-release would be an excellent introduction to these prominent artists. Both Krebs and Mystified demonstrate a remarkable ability to coax sounds from various sources and to sculpture them in their own unique way. The track titles themselves are somewhat revealing of what each artist has contributed to this spilt release. Krebs’ titles are indefinable, fictional words (“Etorpasie” for example) that don’t necessarily refer to anything in particular about the music contained within while Mystified’s titles are concrete and often revealing of the sounds comprising the track (“Hands of Water” for instance). Krebs’ contributions to this rather noisy and enticing album are abstract, beatless, and densely layered with source material that is not easily identifiable while Mystfied’s offerings are in general more tangible, often percussive, collages of recognizable sounds. -LAJ-</reviewbody>
